  • Usage Data: Aggregated, anonymous information about how visitors use our website — pages viewed, referring page, approximate region, and browser/device type — collected through our cookieless Matomo analytics. Your IP address is anonymized (the last two bytes are masked) and is never used to identify you.

We use the information we collect to:

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specific retention periods include:

  • Contact Form Submissions: Retained for 3 years or until the inquiry is resolved, whichever is longer, in accordance with Belgian and German statute of limitations.
  • Marketing Consents: Retained until consent is withdrawn or 3 years of inactivity.
  • Website Analytics: Collected cookieless and IP-anonymized; raw visitor logs are automatically deleted after 26 months (in line with CNIL guidance and data-minimization principles), and only aggregated, anonymized reports are retained thereafter.
  • Legal/Tax Records: Retained for 7-10 years as required by Belgian and German commercial and tax law.

After the retention period expires, personal data will be securely deleted or anonymized in accordance with GDPR Article 17.

9. International Data Transfers

Euraika is based in the European Union. If we transfer your data outside the EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions.

10. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

13. Specific Provisions for German Users (TMG § 13)

In accordance with the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz - TMG), we inform German users:

  • We collect and process usage data only to the extent necessary for enabling and billing the use of our website (TMG § 15).
  • User profiles are created using pseudonyms only, and we do not merge these with data about the bearer of the pseudonym without explicit consent (TMG § 15 Abs. 3).
  • You have the right to object to the creation of pseudonymous user profiles at any time.
