How Euraika Came to Be
Born from Experience
Euraika was founded by a team of technologists, legal scholars, and policy experts who saw the same problem from different angles: powerful AI systems were being built and deployed with too little accountability, too little transparency, and too little regard for the values Europeans hold dear.
We came together with a shared conviction — that Europe does not need to choose between cutting-edge AI capability and fundamental rights. The two are not in tension. In fact, trustworthy AI is more capable AI, because it earns the trust needed for adoption in high-stakes environments.
Our name blends 'eureka' — the moment of insight — with 'Europa', the continent whose regulatory vision and human-rights tradition we are proud to build upon. It reflects our belief that the next great discovery in AI is not just a technical one, but a philosophical and institutional one: that AI can be both powerful and good.
Today, Euraika operates from the Netherlands and works with partners across the European Union. We are building the tools, frameworks, and expertise to make compliant, sovereign AI the default — not the exception.
